I'm a documentary filmmaker/cinematographer based in the Bay Area. I received an MFA in Documentary Film from Stanford University in 2008 and have worked on films for the History Channel, Discovery, CNN and PBS. I also spent several years working for Klutz Press, where I wrote kids books on film production and stop-motion animation.
I tend to be attracted to documentary subjects which have such strong visual motifs and such memorable characters that they develop a surreal, almost scripted quality. My films have aired on PBS, been nominated for two Student Academy Awards and been shown in film festivals around the world including IDFA, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Silverdocs, Palm Springs Shorts Fest and Ann Arbor Film Festival.
I’ve made promotional films, animations and documentaries for a wide range of clients including Klutz Press, Outside Lands, The Singapore Science Centre, San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation, Eventbrite and The San Francisco Giants. I aim to bring the same sense of creativity and style to my client work as I do my documentaries and animation.
