I am Angus, and I am a filmmaker. My journey towards becoming a filmmaker has had its share of detours. I am an international student who was born in Hong Kong, a place in China using a totally different political, social system under the “One Country, Two Systems” policy. I grew up in a low-class, the multi-cultural community were teaching to respect and learn from people in different backgrounds. I have gone through many hard times in my life, and everything just turned out bad. Fortunately, it made me have a better understanding and sympathy to the others who are also going through challenges and tragedies. And therefore, it strikes me to film the issues of minorities and let them be spotted on in society.
I have gone through a lot in my life, and I understand building your branding and reputation is to accept your bads and goods. I am the person who hates pretending like the other person in my daily life, even if I want to build up branding for myself. I love acting a lot, as I did a lot of drama performance and film making. However, I understand that even though we probably have another life in the virtual world, this is not the reason to use that identity to become more ideal for us. As a filmmaker, I usually use my film to talk a lot, and I don’t really post much stuff on the Internet. It’s because I knew that only the person who is real can stay until the last, as we don’t have to worry when one day people find out that some of your stuff is not exactly right.
