Marvin Bryan Lemus is a Mexican and Guatemalan-American comedy director, producer and editor who has worked on a variety of videos which have gained millions of views online and has been featured on The Huffington Post, Gizmodo, UpWorthy, Fast Company, Funny Or Die, Slate, and Mic.com to name a few. However, his grandmother still hasn't seen any of them because she doesn't know what YouTube is and only speaks Spanish.
In 2010, Lemus helped form the sketch group, The Kids Table. As a member of The Kids Table, Lemus directed 50+ sketches and gained over 12k subscribers. The Kids Table's work has been screened at SXSW, LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival, Cinequest, San Jose International Short Film Festival, and won the Best Web Series Award at the 2013 Montreux Comedy Festival for their sketch, Vine Tries to Make a Commercial for Vine in Vine. Lemus' grandmother would especially not understand the concept of Vine.
Additionally, Lemus developed and produced content for Russell Simmons’ YouTube channel, All Def Digital as well as directed digital videos and TV commercials for brands like Nissan, Little Caesar's, BET, Time.com and others before launching Moose Hill Productions. Under Moose Hill, Lemus directed and produced the successful viral video campaign for the Roadside Attractions/Lionsgate feature film, Dear White People. Presently, Lemus is a Film Independent 2015 Project: Involve Directing Fellow and is writing his first feature length film in Spanish and English, which Lemus hopes will help his grandmother finally understand what he does for a living.
