I am Nihal Dantluri, a 20 year old filmmaker who lives in Naperville, Illinois. I just recently graduated from Neuqua Valley High School, and will be a Freshman at DePaul University next year majoring in Digital Cinema. From a very young age, I have always been obsessed with film and movies in general, and I took any chance I had to watch a movie. Some of my favorite films are Pulp Fiction, The Departed, Inglorious Basterds, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Fight Club, and many more. In the future, I plan on being a Director/Cinematographer, but I still remain undecided on what I want to focus on more. As of now, the art of cinematography is what has interested me the most. Some of my favorite Cinematographers are Roger Deakins for his simplicity, Jeff Cronenweth for the gritty look that he always achieves for David Fincher, and finally, Emmanuel Lubezki because he is able to put the audience right in the moment. These are only a few of the DP's that inspire me, and I hope that one day I can become as nuanced and knowledgeable as them.
I've always adored the beautiful art of cinema, and I am constantly thinking about honing my skills to help me tell the best story possible. Cinema is what I love.
