Malik Marcell Russell was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA February 26th 1991. He moved to Atlanta, GA in 2005 where he discovered his passion for acting. Russell pursued his acting career by filming himself and younger brother, Daniel Dukes (Ellis Henry), making skits where they would make spoofs of television shows and life events. Malik and Daniel got their first taste of fame when the two entered high school and the two realized all of their friends loved what they had been doing but unfortunately this was short lived as their camera was broken during a shoot and the two would be split up. Malik continued acting and went into the theater program where he was instantly casted as Juror #9 in the adaptation of 12 Angry Jurors. The play made it to the Act So competition where Malik’s play took second place in the state. Afterward Malik took interest in film shooting a video that landed him a scholarship into Full Sail University. There Malik studied film and with his background in acting, teaching actors to express there emotions came with ease. During Full Sail Malik started producing music videos under his company Spunk Productions. The following year he started Mo’Spunk Ent where he branched into more short films and commercials. Once he graduated Full Sail with his bachelors degree he was accepted into King’s University in London Europe to pursue his Master’s degree in business. Weeks after his graduation Malik got news that he would shortly become a father. Therefore Malik chose to stay in the states and start his career. He married the mother of his child and moved them to Atlanta where he started Somnium Pictures LLC. In Atlanta his career started with a blast. His first gig was working on K Camp’s All Night video, then from there went on to working with artists such as Travis Porter, Rich Kidz, Young Dro and even Jay Z. Sky was the limit in Atlanta but Malik always loved films and skits. While in Atlanta, Malik worked with companies like Composite Media, B Pace Productions, No Witness Ent, Urban Vision Ent, Red Cliff, Class Clown Films, and many more. A year into living in Atlanta malik started working with Archive Entertainment where he led their video department and started directing all videos for Emmanuel and Phillip Hudson, DC Youngfly and everyone signed to Archive Ent. It didn’t take too long until Malik earned the trust to shoot things he wanted with Archive and together they came up with Ratchet people Meet, which is comedic sketches similar to what he started doing in high school. Shortly after he brought his brother down to join the team and now he’s working on building his newly found company 730 Vision to the sky. With 730 meaning crazy, different or strange, Mailk changed everything with his business and even his name, which is now Malik Marcell. He plans to create an empire with 730 Vision with fresh, innovative, and unorthodox methods in the film industry. The companies slogan is “Converting nightmares to pixels” meaning the industries worst fears of the youth taking over will come true through us.
