The Canon EOS R outputs 10 bit 4:2:2 from the HDMI, allowing you to record high quality 10 bit with an external recorder. I also rent a Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder that pairs excellently with this camera. It has Canon's new RF mount, but it also comes with Canon's RF to EF adapter. So you can use your (or my) EF lenses, with full electronics and autofocus. This camera has the same sensor has the 5D mkIV and has Canon Log like the MKIV.
