If you want professional, broadcast quality sound, it's hard to beat Nuemann. For professional sound, this beats sennhieser and Rode, and competes with schoeps and Countryman. I also rent a Sound Devices 664, lavs, boompole, blimp and all other audio needs. The satin nickel KMR 82 i Shotgun Microphone from Neumann uses a combination of a pressure gradient transducer and an interference tube. If the wavelength of the frequency is longer than the tube length, the microphone works as a pressure gradient transducer. At higher frequencies, it operates as an interference transducer for lateral sound. Off axis sound sources are picked up with reduced level, but without coloration. Therefore, the microphone is well suited to record individual instruments of an orchestra. The pickup areas of several shotgun microphones may even overlap as, for example, during recordings on a large stage, without causing any problem. I ALSO RENT the following gear, save yourself a trip! DJI Ronin Dana Dolly Glidecam X-10 w/vest and Arm 8x G3 Sennhieser Lav kits Porta-Jib (Losmandy) for cameras up to 100lbs Losmandy Flex-Track Cartoni HD Tripod Sound Devices 664 Mixer/Recorder 5D Mkii ( 5D Mark 2) Matthews Doorway Dolly Dracast Light Kits Neumann KMR81 i Rode NTG-3 DJI Osmo
