How to use the Backlight on the Canon C100 Mark II

Many users may be unaware of a simple yet remarkably useful feature buried deep in the submenus of the C100 Mark II. Canon has included the ability to boost the LCD brightness significantly for easy shooting in bright conditions with a simple option they call Luminance.

Even more useful, they have mapped it to the Display button. Simply hold Display for about 3 seconds, and Luminance will kick in, boosting the strength of the LCD’s backlight. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it will make outdoor shooting with the LCD much less painful.

To turn it off, simply hold Display again  for 3 seconds and it will revert back to normal.
